Tregullas farm shop and tea room want to avoid using plastic as much as possible!

As a coastal farm we are very aware of the litter of plastic bottles, straws and bags that are left in our fields. These are not only unsightly but also a danger to livestock and wildlife. Our farm shop and tearoom was opened on the farm in 2017 and we very much wanted to avoid using plastic as much as possible. We sell milk from our neighbor in glass bottles, our own meat and veg and a few other locally produced items. This year we are also stocking refillable washing liquids and dry goods where you can bring your own container to fill. In the tearoom we use real tea and have a traditional home cooked menu, no packets of cream, sugar and jam. All the kids love a straw with their milk shake but we source paper straws that we then compost. We are not perfect and we’ve lots to still do in reducing our plastic but we are trying and learning all the time
