The Boatyard Cafe is committed to being ‘plastic free’!

We are a small cafe in Gweek Boatyard on the Helford River.

We opened on 30th March 2018 and have been committed to being ‘single use plastic’ free since day one.

We are honoured to be the first of @cleanoceansailing’s Helford Heroes. We are committed to keeping the cafe free of single use plastic.

It’s really not that difficult and just requires some really simple changes. No bottled water….tap water is great and FREE. We’ll fill your reusable water bottles for you too.  We only offer stainless steel straws (compostable straws don’t break down in landfill)
We don’t have takeaway cups….you can borrow a mug or buy one of our reusable cups.

There is no clingfilm in the kitchen and we’re talking to suppliers about packaging too.
#Repost @cleanoceansailing ・・・ We’re excited to announce our very first Helford Hero! Helford heroes are businesses that have made the step to go plastic free to help save our seas! So our first hero very excitingly is… @the_boatyard_cafe ! These guys are awesome! They have metal straws, local juices in glass bottles and no disposable cups (just to name a few plastic free steps they’ve taken). Well done guys!
